(Warning off the bat: This is a rant. It’s a tangent. It has little to know coherency and is the result of my mind listlessly flailing about it frustration. If you make it through this, I commend you.)
It’s that time of year. December is almost upon us. That parking lot of a month where everyone’s holiday has driven around wildly trying to get the best spot. Some going to far as to steal the spots others were clearly about to park in (looking at you X-Mas).
When I was growing up, I loved Halloween. I’d get in my costume and I’d exhaust myself walking block after block collecting candy. Sometimes we’d go to my grandma’s neighborhood and collect candy there so she had an excuse to see all the grandkids dressed up. It was a fun time. The streets, no matter what street, were filled with Trick or Treaters and it was a thing where if it was Halloween your options were either you buy some big bags of candy or your cheap ass cuts the porch light so kids don’t waste time knocking on your door.
2016 has been a particularly terrible year when it comes to the great minds we’ve lost. It is as if the year has held us and forced us to watch as Olympus crumbles, it’s pantheon pouring past us helplessly. And 2016 has taken yet another brilliant soul, Gene Wilder. Continue reading →
Hi there! For those who aren’t aware, I’m a father. I bring that up because it’s going to be a little disorientating reading something about this on the internet that doesn’t directly address “mommy”. I’m a dad. So strap in. But don’t worry, ladies, this is for you too.

There’s a part of me that’s like, “no, don’t, what if you lose your job and Gamestop is the only place?” But honestly, the company doesn’t look at individual people nor even care about the feelings of their employees so I’m not that concerned. My two-year-old, Damian, has been having issues lately. And normally I can fix a lot of things for him. If he’s thirsty, I can get him water. If he wants to understand how something works, I can explain it to him. I can give him answers when he’s confused, I can physically carry him over obstacles he can’t traverse, I can protect him from the dangers of the world. But he’s got a problem now and I can’t protect him from it and it’s driving me up a wall. Nightmares. Continue reading →
So, I’ve got a dilemma and I’m either going to be the first person to tell you this or I’m about to find out that this is a magic thing that happens to everyone as they near the middle of their life and my mind is going to be blown. Either way, have a seat. Continue reading →
